Five Features to Keep in Mind When Buying Taps for Your Bed and Breakfast

Roy Hughes

Trying to choose taps for the kitchen sinks, bathtubs and bathroom sinks in your bed and breakfast should be fun, but you should also strive to choose taps that represent your unique style and promise to stand the test of time. Here are some attributes to consider:

1. Antique Styles

If you've redecorated an old Victorian, Queenslander or other classic home into a B & B, you may want to keep the home's period in mind whilst shopping for taps. Taps reminiscent of classic styles help keep the interior design of your b and b consistent. If you cannot find contemporary taps with the antique styles you want, check out a specialist antique tap and bath dealer.

2. Easy to Clean

As a B & B owner, you have to clean the bathrooms and the kitchen on an almost daily basis. As a result, you want to make it as easy on yourself as possible. Whether you choose antique, contemporary styles or something in between, look for simple lines that are easy to clean rather than ornate detailing that may allow dirt or bacteria to build up.

3. Fingerprint and Spot Resistant

To further make your taps easy to clean and resistant to dirt, look for fingerprint and spot resistant taps. Typically made of stainless steel, these taps don't harbour fingerprints as much as taps made of other materials. As a result, if you have a shared bathroom, one guest can use it, and the next guest won't have to be exposed to the previous guests fingerprints on the taps.

Similarly, in the kitchen, if you do a lot of cooking, you may be constantly turning the tap on and off. Then, if a guest grabs a glass of water from the sink, he or she may see all your fingerprints or water spots from cleaning dishes. However, with stainless steel taps, most of these spots and prints don't occur.

4. Long-Lasting With Warranties

When you buy taps for your sinks, you want them to last as long as possible. So that you don't face unnecessary repair or replacement costs, look for taps that promise to stand the test of time. Some taps even come with warranties for the whole tap or for the cartridge inside. Financial protection like this allows you to focus your operating capital on other aspects of your business.

5. Australian Made or Designed

Finally, look at where the tap is made. Stocking your bed and breakfast with local items, whether it's foods, flowers, appliances or taps, is something many of your guests will appreciate. Then, you can advertise yourself as supportive of local businesses and Australian industries. That can be a big selling point for many travellers.

Appliances are indispensable. They toast your bread, bake it and even mix and knead it if you like. They also wash your clothes, saving you from an arduous trip to the laundromat or, even worse, beating laundry against a stone at a river. Modern life is utterly impossible without appliances, and because of that, they deserve their own blog. Hi! My name is Zee. This blog is going to cover every aspect of appliances from shopping for them, to repairing them, to recycling them. I hope you like these posts and that they make your life easier.
